Anne Hathaway Interview
Gays adore Anne Hathaway for more than her sweetheart sensibility and frumpy-to-fashionable underdog role in “The Devil Wears Prada.” She’s practically an honorary member of the community, contributing to the “It Gets Better” project, receiving an award from the Human Rights Campaign and quitting Catholicism for her gay brother.
And then consider the super gay trajectory of her film career: “Brokeback Mountain” and, as reported, an upcoming role as Judy Garland in the gay icon’s biopic and a stint on “Glee,” as Kurt’s lesbian aunt.
Hathaway is cast as Emma Morley in her latest movie, the lovely screen adaptation of David Nicholls’ bestselling novel “One Day,” which chronicles her relationship with Dexter Mayhew (Jim Sturgess of “Across the Universe”) on the same day every year for two decades.
The day after the premiere in New York City, the actress cheerfully breezes into a suite at the Waldorf Astoria, appearing so tiny you could put her in your pocket. And lesbians everywhere just might want to after seeing her sexily vacuum-sealed in a vinyl cat suit for “The Dark Knight Rises,” which she’s currently filming. When Hathaway sits down, she’s her usual bubbly self, discussing the most significant day in her life, her upcoming role as Catwoman (as much as she can, anyway) and the enduring power of love for all people.
Even though this is a story about a straight couple, how do you think it can resonate with a gay audience?
Love is universal. Anybody who has a heart can relate to what it is to have it broken again and again and again, and like I said, that’s universal – gay, straight, questioning, whatever you are.
Do you know a gay couple that has that type of enduring relationship like Emma and Dexter?
Oh my god, yes – I went to Vassar! I have like a pod now, and we’ve all been in each other’s lives for 10 years – and they don’t admit it, but I have gay friends that I think are secretly in love with each other.

Anne Hathaway Talks About Being the White Queen in Alice In Wonderland
Tim Burton‘s blockbuster rendition of the fairytale Alice in Wonderland is arriving on DVD and Blu-rayJune 1st, 2010. In the second of a seven-part interview series, we caught up with the actors and the filmmakers behind the movie to discuss the making of this billion dollar epic. Today we chat withAnne Hathaway, who played the White Queen in the film. Here is our conversation with her:
What did you make of the platinum blonde look and shimmering white gown you have in the film?
Anne Hathaway: I think the look of my character really fits into Tim Burton‘s canon, when you look at a lot of his heroines. A lot of them have pale hair and shadowed eyes and dark lips. I think this is the more extreme version of it. She is the White Queen so obviously the color of her hair is informed by that. What I was struck by when I saw the film was that the hair and make-up actually matched what I was trying to do with the character – which was to play her as someone who was good but with a tiny bit of darkness in her. I thought that came out in the lips and the nails. I was so happy that I did not recognize myself.

Anne Hathaway says she’s at larger end of Hollywood size scale
In an interview with Latest News Online, Anne talks about designers and the size-zero phenomenon.
Actress Anne Hathaway insists that compared to other Hollywood actresses, she is quite hefty.
The Devil Wears Prada star said she gets her glamorous designer dresses altered so they fit her on the red carpet.
“If designers want to dress me then I am at the larger end of the Hollywood scale so they have to be fine with that,” the Daily Express quoted her as saying.
“And I think what some designers do is if a dress doesn’t fit you because it’s been fitted to a size zero model they will remake the dress for you,” she added.
