Hathaway: ‘I’d do anything for Tim Burton’
Written by Michelle on February 28th, 2010

Anne Hathaway has revealed that she would have accepted any role in Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland.

The actress, who plays the White Queen in the upcoming adaptation of the children’s book, has admitted that she would do “anything” for the director to get the chance to work with him.

Speaking to Teen Hollywood, Hathaway said: “I would do anything if Tim wanted me to. I would have played a mushroom in this if that’s the way he saw me in it.

“I would have happily donned my green onesie and been up on stilts. I would have done anything to be in Wonderland but it’s kind of nice to be a real person as well. Being CGId or not? I have no preference, sorry I don’t.”

Alice In Wonderland arrives in cinemas on March 5.

Anne in Style.
Written by Michelle on February 16th, 2010

Anne Hathaway is picture-perfect in Bottega Veneta on the cover of InStyle magazine’s March 2010 issue. Here’s what the 27-year-old Alice in Wonderland actress had to share with the mag:

On her appearance: “I think I’ve got really weird features. I have very large features on a very small head. But, you know, I’m not going to beat myself up… I look like myself, and I think at the end of the day, as nice as pretty is, authenticity is more important.”

On playing the White Queen: “When I found out Tim Burton was on, I basically went into the studio and said, ‘I’m here, I want to play the White Queen. I’m just letting you know I will do anything to be in this movie.’”
On planning: “I don’t time anything. I never plan an image I want to project. It’s always very much where I am right now.”

Valentine’s Day movie tops US box office
Written by Michelle on February 15th, 2010

The star-laden Valentine’s Day has topped the US box office, as the film cashed in on the romantic holiday.

Starring Julia Roberts, Ashton Kutcher, Anne Hathaway and Jamie Foxx, among many others, the movie took $52.4m (£33.4m) in its opening three days. Children’s fantasy Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief opened in second place, ahead of The Wolfman. Adapted from a fantasy book series, Percy Jackson stars Uma Thurman and Pierce Brosnan.

Its takings of $31.1m (£19.8m) just pipped The Wolfman, an update of the 1941 Lon Chaney Jr classic – this time starring Benicio Del Toro, which took $30.6m (£19.5m). Blockbuster Avatar slipped to four, while last week’s number one, the romantic drama Dear John, fell to number five.

“To have a movie titled Valentine’s Day on Valentine’s weekend was a no-brainer that absolutely worked,” said box office analyst Paul Dergarabedian of Hollywood.com.

The US also marks the Presidents Day national holiday on Monday, with final figures for the four-day holiday due out later.
